Yes, education and networking will be the focus, but also a Roundtable discussion between Title Agents and Law Firm Agents allowing for candid conversations breaking down relevant issues, struggles and recent successes. Educations Sessions:

  1. Breaking Down the FR/Bar Contract and the Latest Revisions with Real Estate Attorney, Erin Miller, of Erin Michelle Miller, P.A., and Tortuga Title
    1. This course will highlight the changes to the FR/Bar Contracts, Addenda, and a few Florida Realtors Forms since fall 2024.  
    2. We will discuss how these changes impact the Buyer, Seller, and Real Estate Agents.  
    3. We will recap the new FR/Bar Riders and Florida Realtors forms that will impact how the Closing Agent collects and disburses Broker Compensation, and provide suggestions for counsel who has the opportunity to review the Sales Contracts prior to their execution.  
    4. We will discuss some of the pain points related to condos, and how the FR/Bar Contract SubCommittee is working to revise the Condo Rider A.
  2. Escrow Challenges and Ethical Considerations with Mary Anne Harris, of Positively Balanced and Real Estate Closing Path
    1. Learn the important state protocols for managing escrow and escheatment;
    2. Understand ethical considerations and advance industry knowledge; and
    3. Focus on reducing mistakes and losses to increase profit margins.
  3. FinCEN's New Residential Real Estate Rule, What's Coming and How We Got Here with Regulatory Compliance Counsel, Jay St. Lawrence, of The Fund
    1. Beginning December 1, 2025, FinCEN’s Geographic Targeting Orders will be replaced with a new rule greatly expanding requirements for reporting on purchases of residential real property by entities without bank financing. 
    2. Real estate settlement agents will typically be responsible for this reporting, using a new 100+ field form. 
    3. Join us to learn what the new rule covers, what’s exempt, and what it will take to comply.
